Leisure time in Estepona

The coast of Estepona offers to people a total of 17 sandy beaches, with different occupancy rates. The La Rada Beach is located within the urban area, having the Blue Flag award, regarding to its quality. Is one of the longest, most crowded beaches of the city. Urban as well is the Cristo Beach, which forms a beautiful creek. This beach is fantastic at any moment of the year, because its location protects the beach from the Mediterranean winds. Other high – quality semi urban beaches are Arroyo de Los Caños beach (in the west side of the city) and Casasola beach.

As rocky, cliff – type beaches we have La Galera and Bahia Dorada Beach, forming astonishing marine landscapes. These beaches are really appropriate for the nautical sports: fishing, scuba diving, windsurf and even for sailing. The richness of its seafloors represents another attractive aspect of the village, attracting a mass of people looking for a great contact with the sea. The Saladillo Beach is one of the biggest beaches of the village, with almost 3 km. length. In this area of the city the water remains clean and free of rocks and seaweeds all the year, being a calm, mild swell beach. The dunes and pine woods separates it from the adjacent built-up areas, like the Urbanización Costalitas beach.

We have another alternative completely different, such Costa Natura Beach: this was the first nude Beach in Costa del Sol. With 2.500 meters length, it’s located inside a semi urban area, having a medium occupancy rate.

We cannot forget the Municipal Sailing School, which offers courses for any range of age, or the Diving Centres, with beginning to expert courses. Also, the golf courses spread around the area are unbeatable and within the most importants of the Costa del Sol. One of it is located in the Urbanización Alhambra Golf estate.

Located inside the Urbanizacion El Paraiso estate we find the golf course named alike. Opened in 1973, is one of the oldest in the Costa del Sol. With a peerless design all the courses were drawn up between streams, flanked by palm trees and exotic fauna: a really exciting challenge for experienced and beginning players.

The Estepona Golf course uses spectacularly the natural landscape where it is located: besides the Urbanización Estepona Golf estate, at the Sierra Bermeja feet. From there we enjoy spectacular sea views and golf courses between palm trees, olive trees and eucalyptus.

Given such environment, playing golf becomes a unique experience. The atmosphere is exquisite, having the most advanced installations in Europe. Like Urbanización Los Flamingos and its golf club, venue for the last three years of the European Senior Circuit Golf Finals, so-called “The Daily Telegraph European Seniors Match Play Championship”.

There is another alternative in the Tennis and Padel Clubs spreads along the coastline. Among them we must emphasize the club located inside the Urbanización Los Granados Playa estate, for its modern, comfortable installations.

Andalusia has been always related with the equestrian art. Estepona, as regards with, has an important Equestrian Art School, with equestrian facilities for practising, horse trips inside magnificent natural landscapes, etc.

Along the past years has proliferated the health & beauty centres, with talasotherapy and mesotherapy treatments, all of them water – based. Within the village exists a huge offer of establishments dedicated to these activities, most of them located in hotels, as it happens with the Urbanizacion El Pilar estate. We can also follow some other beauty & relax treatments in one of the spas located within the hotels of the Urbanización Bel Air estate, between Estepona and Marbella (the so – called Golden Mile).
